Mikael brings over 35 years of experience and knowledge to the team as president and owner of IME. He made his start as an elevator engineer at KBM-Elevators in Sweden in 1982. Once KONE acquired KBM in 93’, Mikael joined KONE’s engineer team in Linkoping Sweden.
During his time with KONE, Sweden, Mikael broadened his expertise and worked with modernization, advanced repairs, new building and maintenance on all elevator brands existing in the district until 2003. He then joined the MacGregor organization as a senior marine elevator engineer and focused mostly on annual inspections.
In 2005 KONE (Marine Elevators LLC) acquired MacGregor, in which Mikael was promoted to Sales and Project Manager. During his time as Sales and Project Manager he was responsible for budgets as well as the largest modernization projects KONE had in the marine environment.
Mikael joined INTERNATIONAL MARINE ELEVATORS INC as president and part owner in 2010. In 2015 he acquired the company and is now the sole owner.
After finishing school, at 16 years old in 1975, Sven started at KONE Hissar AB Sweden where his two older brothers were already working. As an apprentice, he started with installations of new elevators and later moved on to modernization and also as a troubleshooter / specialist.
In 1993 he left the field and moved to KONE’s R&D Department in Sweden, where he learned CAD design both mechanical and electrical. He produced manufacturing drawings and documentation such as instruction manuals, methods for modernizations etc.
In March of 1999 Sven and his wife Sandra and children decided to move to Florida, USA and he started with MacGregor Passenger Ship Division as a Service Coordinator and later on became the Sr. Service Engineer onboard Cruise Ships for MacGregor and then with KONE Marine after KONE acquired MacGregor Group in 2005. From 2006 to 2010 Sven got the position of Spare Parts Manager at KONE and he held that position until June 2010 when he felt it was time to leave KONE after nearly 35 years of service.
He moved on the Sales & Project manager for International Marine Elevators (IME) and he stayed until February of 2013. At that time he accepted a position as Spare Part Sales Manager with RGB Electrical Services and Supplies.
And now, in 2017, Sven is happy to be back at IME as President of IME America.
Brittany brings over 10 years of management experience to IME. Her professional journey commenced as a Branch Manager for GardaWorld Cash Logistics. Following this role, she further honed her leadership skills at ALDI, where she played a pivotal role in launching a new store in Chattanooga, TN.
Most recently, Brittany worked aboard vessels in the vibrant environment of the Florida Keys, where she excelled in her career as a scuba instructor. Drawing from this experience, she brings to IME not only a passion for the marine industry but also a wealth of knowledge in fostering teamwork and safety awareness. Brittany is known for her strong leadership skills, excellent communication, administrative prowess, and meticulous attention to detail, making her a valuable asset to our team.
In 2023, Brittany seamlessly transitioned into IME, assuming the role of Service Manager from Maria Maxwell.
When she's not immersed in her professional role, Brittany actively participates in the local barbershop singing community, showcasing her passion for harmonious melodies. A true Floridian at heart, she cherishes living near the beach and embraces the coastal lifestyle. In her downtime, you'll rarely find her without her faithful companion, Kiwi, her beloved dog. Brittany's vibrant interests and love for her surroundings contribute to her well-rounded and dynamic presence within and beyond the workplace.
